We are proud to announce that our organic chocolate Chipotle Cherries have been chosen as a finalist for the 2026 Good Food Awards “Best Snack” category. After a blind tasting of 1,200 entries, over 200 outstanding American companies, including Chukar Cherries, were selected as finalists.
Chipotle Cherries perfectly balance smoky pepper heat with dried honey-sweet Rainier cherries and smooth ultra dark chocolate. They’re ideal for adventurous snackers or anyone who enjoys a bold and unique flavor experience.
This recognition is the cherry-on-top after the recipe for the Chipotle Cherries was meticulously re-formulated last spring by the Chukar team with support from a nationally acclaimed chef. “We’re honored to be recognized again by the Good Food Foundation, who place quality and innovation at the forefront,” says Pamela Montgomery, owner and founder of Chukar Cherries. Chukar first won a Good Food Award in 2023 for their Organic Dried Rainier Cherries.
To be eligible for the Good Food Awards, entrants provide detailed information on ingredient sourcing, sustainability, and social responsibility to meet the program’s rigorous standards. Chukar Cherries crafts its iconic Northwest cherry treats at their headquarters in south-central Washington using local cherries and a domestic workforce. Responsible sourcing, recyclable materials, and minimal waste have guided Chukar since day one.
“The geographic diversity of this year’s finalists—spanning 40 states—is a testament to the fact that the movement for tasty, authentic, and responsible food continues to thrive in every corner of our country,” says Sally Rogers, Good Food Foundation Board President. Transforming local cherries into Northwest gifts has been Chukar’s specialty since the company launched in 1988. The family-owned business crafts its all-natural products using tree-ripened fruit, fresh roasted nuts, and premium chocolate. Chukar’s specialties can be purchased at their flagship store and factory headquarters in Prosser, Washington, at their store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, or shipped nationally at chukar.com.
The Good Food Foundation (GFF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that champions a broad and diverse community of food crafters, grocers, chefs, food writers, activists, and passionate food-lovers.
