National Cherry Pie Day Contest

To celebrate National Cherry Pie Day, we invited our community to bake something delicious using Chukar Cherry Pie Fillings and share their creations.

After reviewing all the wonderful entries, we are delighted to announce the winner: Carol F.

"I live in New Braunfels, Texas and I am 80 years old. I have been making pies since I was 8 years old.

I used the Triple Cherry pie filling and my family went wild over the taste. I will never use any other cherry pie filling. You have a customer for life.

Just to add I have won the grand champion pie at our county fair 5 times." - Carol F.

Carol’s Double-Crust Pie Recipe

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco shortening
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup ice cold water

Mix flour with salt. Cut in butter and shortening until the size of small peas. Add ice cold water and form a ball. Keep in refrigerator until ready to use.
