With soils shaped by massive ice age floods and windblown loess, climate prone to cold winters and blazing summers, and geography blessed by the mighty Columbia River and its tributaries, Yakima Valley farmlands produce world-renowned fruit. Northwest cherries in particular are famous for their remarkable size and flavor.
